Sound The Alarm, Organize The Troops & Let's Go Go Gorilla Marketing
Who's The Crazy Guy That Dreamed Up This Method of Marketing?
Guerilla marketing ideas were dreamed up by Jay Conrad Levinson in his 1984 book “Guerila Marketing”. The idea of a guerilla marketing strategy is now included in most marketing textbooks. Levinson always advised people to be creative by developing unique marketing strategies. If you are attempting to create your own
small business marketing plans

Look for Publicity.
From personal experience, I can tell you that there are numerous sources for publicity. Most of them are inexpensive and many are free. If you make use of your contacts, whether they are personal or professional, you can reach a very large number of people. Every person has a half dozen or so close friends and each of those friends knows another half dozen or so. That’s not to mention all of the people that are not close friends, but simply acquaintances. The best guerilla marketing ideas are designed to grow like a virus. Only instead of making people ill, you are making them your customers.
Small is Better.
A gorilla marketing strategy is perfect for the independent professional who does his own
small business marketing.
If you fit into this category, you have the advantage of being closer to your customers and able to respond to their needs more quickly. You also have the ability to change quickly, should you deem that change is necessary. Right now, we have seen many giant corporations in bankruptcy court, while many small businesses are thriving. Lots of consumers have gotten tired of dealing with machines. They want to deal with people. So, be happy that you are small and capitalize on it. When you write your ad copy, come up with lines that let people know that yours is the company with a personal touch.
Build Trust and Support.
According to Levinson, you cannot make use of a gorilla marketing strategy if you are not able to build trust and support in the community. In order to do that, you must satisfy. You must be able to deliver on your promises. Even your friends will end up looking for a new service if you’re not as good as you claim to be. Use your imagination and your personal contacts to put these guerilla marketing ideas to work for you. But, remember to always “deliver the goods”.
