Famous Advertising Slogans
Who'd Ever Thought "Finger Lickin' Good" Would Still Be Around After All These Years.
In These Times of Search Engine Advertising They Don't Mean As Much As They Did.
Famous advertising slogans are still famous but with the introduction of search engine advertising they're not as highly sought after. They are however still actively promoted by
advertising agencies
for obvious reasons.

How Do You Develop a Slogan?
As in dreaming up
business names ideas,
brainstorming is the method mostly used to create them. The more minds you have working on it, the more ideas you’ll come up with. Here’s a check list to rid the brain of the cobwebs & get those creative juices flowing.
- A list of features and benefits related to your company and the products and services it provides
- A list of advantages that you have over your competitors
- A list of needs or wants that your target market has
- A clear description of your target market
- A concept of the image that you wish to create for your company
The slogan doesn’t necessarily need to associate with things on these lists; however, it is an excellent way to set the mood for creative brainstorming.
Famous Advertising Slogans Have 3 Things in Common…
- They are short
- They “hit a nerve”
- They are easy to remember
"The Tone of Famous Slogans Varies Greatly…"
- They may be funny, or even corny.
- They may make a lot of sense… Or NOT!
- They may make people feel good… Or bad.
- They may become a part of jokes or an entire joke
- They may be featured as part of collectible items.
- They may even become a part of the game of trivia.
At any rate, they are memorable and they make your company, product or services a brand to remember.
How Do You Know That a Slogan Will Become a Famous Advertising Slogan?
Simple… you don’t! Who would’ve thought Finger Lickin’ Good would become famous when it was developed as a slogan for Kentucky Fried Chicken? I’m sure there was some hope, but nobody really knew that it would become a legendary slogan. It appears to me that they took the worst feature of their product (the messiness), and turned into something good to use as a memorable statement. It's like they were saying that grease is good. When I think of Sears, I think power tools and appliances… I guess because they constantly advertise tools and appliances. But recently, they came up with the following slogan… “Come See the Softer Side of Sears”. Advertising campaigns based on this slogan changed the image of Sears in my mind, and probably in others. That was probably their intention in order to increase sales in women’s apparel.
Don’t Write Off Any Ideas…
You never will know whether or not your slogan will be among famous advertising slogans until you try them.Developing a memorable advertising slogan can be the best advertising technique that you can use to develop a brand and make your company stand out from the crowd. *Trademarks and service marks on this page are the property of their respective owners.
